They've beaten Houston (on the road), Phoenix (on the road), Utah, Detroit and now have beaten Denver

they hung in with the Spurs at San Antonio for 3 quarters and they kep the big 3 down...Duncan especially (shot like 2 for 14 from the floor in 35 minutes with 5 points and 4 rebounds) and Bruce Bowen of all people lit them up with 6 3pointers (which doesn't happen often)

as long as they all stay healthy and the bench keeps on producing the way they are producing they should have no problem.

p.s. carmelo is wuss. first he throws a punch and runs back like a coward and now he has to choke someone. i hope one of these days he gets his as$ kicked. wuusssss

I don't I thought the nuggets were going to win after the first half, but then man Lakers just kept pouring it on. I didnt like the outcome of the game, but I liked the rout of Knicks by Boston, that was a fun game to watch, I think Isaih Thomas will get fired in a couple of days, that was just some horrible baskeball by the Knicks. No Effort watsoever

I can't say there legit, but they have surprised me to the point I can't even hit Kobe and the Lakers. I thought I would see Kobe in a Bulls jersey or as a Knick player.

Wrong!!!!!! L.A. winning and Kobe really hasn't had to pop 50 every time... he just scores 27 and 5 ast and done lol

I saw the game and was thoroughly entertained. What a great comeback win. I still like Denver though.
Well they're definitely a playoff team and I'm guessing top 5, 6 for sure. But title contenders? Not this year, sorry. The reality is that they still lack enough of an inside presence even with Bynum. However, I think next year they will be one of the elites and Bynum will finally play at an All-Star level. The only thing that can hurt them now is injuries and the possibility of Kobe opting out next year. If all goes right though, I think the next few years will be good in Lakerland with the emergence of not only Bynum but also Farmar.

The season is young and they are a one star team! Kobe won't be able to carry them out of round 1.

They need a few seasons before they are legit contenders. I am however, glad that they exposed the Nuggets. They were being called title contenders in the off season, I don't think so!

As for the Spurs, yes they kept the big 3 under raps, but when team is everything you figure out a way to win. As the season goes on and teams like the Jazz, Spurs, and Rockets fine tune it will be harder for the Lakers to beat them as the all play good defense. The Lakers tend to struggle against those teams, but do well against the more offensive minded teams like the Suns and Mavs.
